Halo 3 - Now With Scratched Discs
Well not much to say except that essentially single player feels a lot like the other Halo games. Co-op is certainly more fun with three people. The game play seems very predictable “I think a giant ship will come down here and start shooting us”. The graphics do look a lot better but still not amazing. The landscapes are pretty damn good though, specially at long distances. BTW the rumors are true about the limited edition and the disks being scratched. Several of the people waiting in line had to swap them for regular ones. That included my friend and I, although my other friend’s was flawless until I put it in the case. Somehow it got loose and scratched his disk. The entire case is metal including the CD spindle which doesn’t hold the disk in place very well. I recommend sandwiching the two disks between the “photo album” that is in the case. That will prevent them from getting scratched provided that you don’t play catch with the case. If only I had a decent camera I could take pictures of the damaged disks :S
3 commentsMySpace Hacks - Non-Friend/Search Image Trick
After reading this article you will be 150% more proficient in the art of filling up a MySpace people search page with an image of your choosing, AND fill up the browser with an image of your choosing when non-friends view your profile. To see this in action simply browse to MySpace.com and do a people search for “Jordan Smert“. Lovely, is it not?
Ok, under the guise of pleasing our total of 3 (three) readers, I’ve decided to do another article about MySpace hacks. Though I indeed want to please readers, I also crave attention in the form of comments and *ahem* $0.07 per day in ad revenue. Who am I kidding, we don’t even make that, but who cares right!?
Anyway, here I go again (on my own (-Whitesnake)).

VirtualBox vs VMware
Just over a month ago (maybe it has been longer) I saw an article on Digg about an open source alternative to VMware. I thought I would at least check it out just to see how well VirtualBox performed. I’ve also tried QEMU before and I wasn’t impressed with its speed or getting it configured to be used. VirtualBox performs very well even before you install the guest tools. It is very important to note that VirtualBox clock on the guest machine stayed perfectly in sync with the host. Which I can’t say for VMware Server and Player 1.0.2 since they varied up to 20 minutes before changing it in a Windows XP guest. The speed is near native and a Windows XP installation is faster than if you would have installed it from CD. The reason that probably is because I was using a ISO instead of using the CD. VMware on the other hand in the same situation is noticeably slower by comparison. VMware has always seemed slow for disk operations in both the Player and Server versions.
